Join us in beautiful Sperryville, Viirginia, in Rappahanock County, at Stonewall Abbey Fitness and Yoga, for Kim’s Second Annual Fall weekend yoga retreat, Back to the Mountain. The event starts Friday night at 7:00 pm, giving you time to get there and settle in. Light food will be served for an after-yoga treat before you turn into your room at Hopkins Ordinary (which has a cottage for five for an economical stay), or at any of near-by Airbnbs.
The schedule for the weekend is:
Friday night practice 7:00-9:00 pm: a physically stabilizing and mentally nourishing practice so you can peel away from what you've left behind.
Saturday 9:30 am-12:00 pm: Bright and vibrant Fall practice. Standing poses, inversions (and inversions preparation for those beginning this journey), and backbends.
Saturday 2:30-5:00 pm: Twists, forward folds, and pranayama.
Sunday morning practice 10:30 am-12:00 pm: Integration practice: What to bring home.
The theme of the workshop is on being in the mountains, and specifically using our natural surroundings to experience deeper, stronger, steadier poses. Throughout the weekend, we will come back to mountain pose repeatedly, examining how the pose changes as we push and release the body in new, different directions. Hiking is available anytime in the Shenandoah, whose entrance lies right outside the studio.
Through Kim’s expert guidance, this retreat will provide both the time and the place to (re)establish healthy movement and living practice in your daily life.
